"Google has surprised us with an early Android 11 developer preview rollout in February-2020."
Google has surprised us with ab early release of the first developer preview for Android 11 in the month of February which is one month early to the routine rollout of any preview version of the next version of Android OS by Google. Now, we have a good idea about some of the changes that Google has brought for us n this major upgrade from Andriod Pie.
Here in this short "Android 11: Best Features and Release Date" guide, we will provide you the latest reports and information on everything that we know about the upcoming Google Android 11 OS.
Back in Aug-2019, before the launch of Android 10, Google announced that they will follow a numerical order instead of a crazy dessert naming tradition for its future versions of the operating system. So, Google ditches Android’s naming tradition and "Android Q" and "Android R" to be named as "Android 10" and "Android 11" respectively but it will be packed with updates and probably some long-awaited features.
We would expect the official announcement from Google on Android 11 in mid-2020, on Google IO 2020, which will run from May 12 to 14. The final stable build will begin to roll out to all eligible major smartphones from October 2020.
The Android 11 Developer Preview program runs from February 2020 until the final public release for AOSP and OEM, planned for the third quarter i.e Q3 of 2020.
In key development milestones, we will deliver updates for your development and test environments. Each includes SDK tools, system images, emulators, API reference and API differences. The milestones are listed below.
The company plans to release two more developer previews and three public betas (Android 11 beta) before the stable release od Android 11.0 in Q3.
After launching 1st preview of Google 11 in the month of Feb, recently Google released the "Android 11 developer preview 1.1" for the next Android 11. The last preview of operating system 1 is available in Google Pixel 4 or 4XL, Pixel 3 or 3XL, Pixel 3a and Pixel 2 or 2 XL. If you have a Pixel device and are a developer, you can download the Developer Preview system image and update it to your device by clicking here.
This version of Android developer can be installed, but it will be extremely defective for normal use. It is a version of the operating system, specifically intended for developers and that is what should happen.
Android 11 updated Developers preview version is now available for Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL and GSI.
In addition, the features that are currently available with this version may change in the stable version and many other new features will also come to Android 11. So, so far, what are the notable features that we will see in Android 11? Let's take a brief look at this.
Android 11 Best Features:
1. A New NFC file-sharing alternative
2. Improved touch sensitivity
3. Extended Chat bubbles
4. Improved Dark mode
5. One time permissions
6. Native screen recording
7. Mute notifications during recording
8. Scrolling screenshots
9. Back gesture tweaking
10. Improved support for curved displays
11. Airplane mode won’t turn off Bluetooth
12. Share menu App pinning
14. Improved notification shade conversations
15. Scoped storage
16. Better handling of older notifications
17. Project mainline enhancements
18. Reverse charging
19. Motion controls for certain phones
With Android 10 came the removal of Android Beam, which allows phones to share files through NFC. All I had to do was gather the phones to share files, but it's gone.
It would be useful to have an easy-to-use alternative that allows you to share photos, videos, music or other files simply by pressing the phones together; At this time, it can be a nuisance to use a specific application to do so, and Apple's Airdrop is a useful feature that has no equivalent in Android.
This is something that many of us will appreciate. No matter how strong the glass is on a phone, we always end up applying tempered glass to make sure the real glass is never damaged.
Sometimes, with the tempered glasses of average quality, we face problems of knocks and failed touches, but not anymore. Google will incorporate better touch sensitivity on the software side, which will result in perfect touches all the time, even if one has a tempered glass installed in the device.
One of the new features of Android 10 was the introduction of chat bubbles, similar to Facebook Messenger, placed on other applications, which allow you to see all your conversations in several applications, all in an easily accessible format.
That means that if you want to have conversations about several applications, you will continue to use those applications for the most part.
It would be really useful if more applications became compatible: WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and even dating applications. Then, it would be incredibly easy to keep track of your various conversations in all the different applications that fill your phone.
The dark mode is not for everyone, but those who use it love it or at least want it, but in Android 10 it has many problems.
First of all, not many applications have their own dark modes, not even all Google applications, so using your smartphone with the dark mode enabled you can see it jump directly from dark to light applications and vice versa.
Second, in applications that have a dark mode, part of the text does not change color and may remain invisible; This really happens in Google search, so you cannot see the suggested results.
For dark mode to be useful in Android smartphones, it must be really useful for most applications, rather than just an optional lever here and there.
Previously on Android 10, we had the function of allowing permission to access location, camera or microphone data only while the application is open. But with Android 11 we will have a one-time permission configuration that will allow the user permission only for once.
Screen recording is something that Android users have always wanted and here it is finally. We heard rumors that it will come to Android 10, but Google couldn't do it. But with Android 11 that is a new feature that we will have for sure. We will no longer need any additional applications to record our screens.
