Windows 10 is experiencing a spectacularly bad execution of faulty updates recently, and if it has had enough, then Windows 12 Lite promises to solve those problems.
"Are you Sick of Windows 10? Are you annoyed enough to make a change in your OS?"
For the information of our readers, this is to confirm that this is not an official Microsoft release. Instead, it seems to be a modified version of the Linux Lite 4.8 LTS distribution made to look like Windows 10 with the default wallpaper and custom icons.
Windows 12 Lite was detected by a Reddit user at a local computer sale, and according to the 'documentation' that comes with the software (which is actually a raw A4 printed sheet), using Windows 12 Lite means "Without update whenever you want to work. There are no updates that fail, so you cannot update, "clearly referring to the recent difficulties of Windows 10.
It is also claimed that said Windows 12 Lite is "more than three times faster than Microsoft Windows 10" and "starts in about 15 seconds."
In addition to the badly printed manual, there is also a rather cunning website, which is at least honest about what Linux Lite 4.8 LTS is made to look like Windows 10.
Apparently, the seller was offering Windows 12 Lite DVD for £ 15 (about $ 20, AU $ 30) on the sale of the computer, and although that is certainly cheaper than a Windows 10 license, you should never buy software random like that, and you should never pay to use free Linux distributions like Linux Lite.
It also makes the bold claim that "there is no virus or ransomware", since "Windows 12 is immune to these nasty ones."
It is very much clear that said Windows 12 Lite is obviously not going to replace Windows 10, it raises some buzz about how Linux could be a good alternative for people who are getting unhappy with the poor performance of Windows 10 by Microsoft.
There are many other lightweights os that works much faster than Windows 10, especially on older hardware, and because not many people use Linux versus Windows, there are also fewer viruses and malware threats.
As of now, Windows 12 Lite shows, anyone can configure Linux to look and behave very similarly to Windows. Meanwhile, if our readers are looking for a Linux-based operating system that looks like Windows 10, we can suggest Kali Linux. It is a free and open source distribution that last year introduced a "Kali Undercover" mode that allows us to change the appearance of the operating system so that people who do not look too closely can easily confuse it with Windows 10.
